Relationship Between Testosterone and Movement Patterns in Male Asian Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Comparisons of mean fecal testosterone metabolite concentrations (mFTM) and behavioral variables between the breeding (May–July) and post‐breeding (August–November) seasons. The asterisks indicate significant differences. ABSTRACT In male mammals, reproduction and reproductive behavior are strongly influenced by testosterone. While some species exhibit

GMPPB‐CDG Results in Lysosomal Dysfunction and Acid Alpha‐Glucosidase Deficiency

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT GDP‐mannose pyrophosphorylase B (GMPPB) deficiency is a congenital disorder of glycosylation due to pathogenic variants of the GMPPB gene. GMPPB catalyzes GDP‐mannose synthesis, an early step in multiple glycosylation pathways, including N‐glycosylation, O‐mannosylation, C‐mannosylation, and glycosylphosphatidylinositol‐anchor formation.

Comparison of the C-mediating killing activity and C-activating properties of mouse monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against Trypanosoma cruzi

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1992
A Mouse polyclonal antiserum against Trypanosoma cruzi or its IgG and IgM fractions and five monoclonal antibodies (two IgM, two IgG1 and one IgG2a) recognize and combine with membrane components of trypomastigote forms of the parasite as revealed by ...

A Poliomyelitis Antiserum.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1935
A normal sheep was bled, and no neutralizing antibodies for poliomyelitis virus were found in the blood serum in 1:1 dilutions. The animal was then injected as follows: September 8, 12, 17, and 24, 1934, 10 cc. of a suspension of equal parts of 2% poliomyelitis virus and P.C.B. filtrate intradermally;1 October 1st and 8th, 30 cc.

Polymeric Nanoparticles for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Snakebite

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 227, Issue 1, 15 January 2026.
Snakebite envenomation affects between 1.8 and 5.5 million people annually, many of whom suffer disabilities or even death. Current antivenoms are composed of plasma‐derived antibodies. However, there remains an underexplored opportunity to utilise polymer‐based nanoparticles.

Divergent Evolution and Local Establishment of Multidrug‐Resistant Shigella sonnei in China

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
• Evolutionary history and local establishment of Chinese Shigella sonnei are unclear. • Chinese S. sonnei developed into four clades and ONPG‐negative variants. • The antimicrobial resistance phenotype of Clade I was due to an IncB/O/K/Z plasmid. • Antimicrobial resistance of Clade II was due to IncFII and IncB/O/K/Z plasmids.

Dynamic interaction of the Yersinia pseudotuberculosis type three secretion system proteins LcrV and LcrG

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Yersinia pathogenicity is dependent on polarized translocation of effector proteins via the type III secretion system (T3SS). The tip complex situated on the needle structure of the T3SS is required for contact with the eukaryotic host membrane and is to an extent composed of pentameric LcrV. LcrV is a multifunctional protein that also acts as

Colistin and Biofilm‐Related Genes of Positive Escherichia coli O157:H7 in Cattle (Bos taurus) Carcasses Antibiotic Resistance Profiles, Biofilm and Molecular Characterisation of Isolates

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Antimicrobial resistance in various infectious agents poses a public health threat. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the antibiotic resistance profiles, biofilm formation abilities and molecular characterisation of colistin‐resistant Escherichia coli O157:H7 from cattle carcasses.
