Smallpox Antiviral Drug

2005
Abstract : Using a homology-based bioinformatics approach a new structural model of the vaccinia virus (VV) I7L proteinase active site has been generated. This model was used to perform Virtual Ligand Screening of a comprehensive library of approximately 3.5 million available compounds including about 208,000 available ketones and aldehydes.

Antiviral Drugs 1983

Medical Clinics of North America, 1983
A number of antiviral compounds are currently available, and several others are of great interest. Trifluridine, idoxuridine, and vidarabine are effective topically in herpes simplex virus keratoconjunctivitis infection. Vidarabine (and presumably acyclovir) is effective in herpes simplex virus encephalitis and in herpes zoster infections in the ...

Antiviral drugs

1983
Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of the chemical composition and use of different antiviral drugs. Antiviral drugs can be divided into three classes depending upon their mechanisms of action. The first class is of the substances that selectively inhibit viral functions without any significant influence on the metabolism of ...
