Enhanced Brain‐Heart Connectivity as a Precursor of Reduced State Anxiety after Therapeutic Virtual Reality Immersion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 38, October 13, 2025.
This study shows that enhanced brain‐to‐heart coupling is a precursor of anxiety reduction following a virtual reality‐based non‐pharmacological intervention. Driven by midline beta rhythms, this effect suggests the involvement of central‐autonomic interactions.

Anticholinergics, executive function, and cognitive/behavioral changes in Down syndrome

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Anticholinergic (AC) medication use is considered a risk factor for cognitive impairment and deterioration in the general population; yet, this has not been examined in Down syndrome (DS), a disorder with high dementia rates. Tuina Alleviates Anxiety‐Like Behaviors Associated With Neuropathic Pain Through the Modulation of Synaptic Plasticity in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Tuina alleviates CCI‐induced neuropathic pain and anxiety‐like behaviors, and counteracts the enhancement of excitatory synaptic transmission and abnormal synaptic plasticity, potentially by modulating GluN2B/PSD‐95/CaMKII/GluR1 signaling. ABSTRACT Background As the disease progresses, neuropathic pain (NP) is often accompanied by anxiety‐like ...

Endotoxemia‐Induced Inflammation in the Absence of Obesity Is Associated With Decreased Anxiety‐Like and Impulsive Behavior With no Effect on Learning and Memory

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 15, Issue 5, October 2025.
Obesity is associated with chronic inflammation and altered neurocognitive functions, but whether these outcomes are functionally linked is unknown. To model the inflammation accompanying obesity, minipumps dispensing the endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) led to neuroinflammation, decreases in anxiety‐like and impulsive behaviors, yet had no effect on
