Remote Ischemic Preconditioning Neither Improves Survival nor Reduces Myocardial or Kidney Injury in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Peri-interventional myocardial injury occurs frequently during transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). We assessed the effect of remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) on myocardial injury, acute kidney injury (AKIN) and 6-month ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Plasma lipids and risk of aortic valve stenosis: a Mendelian randomization study
Aims Aortic valve stenosis is commonly considered a degenerative disorder with no recommended preventive intervention, with only valve replacement surgery or catheter intervention as treatment options.

In this study, a physically enhanced vascular dECM bioink and used 3D‐coaxial bioprinting are developed to fabricate mature brain blood vessels for cerebral atherosclerosis research. This model demonstrates that vascular geometry‐induced hemodynamic changes trigger vascular inflammation, ensuring its potential for cerebrovascular research.

Degenerative aortic stenosis [PDF]
#### Summary points Aortic stenosis is the most common valvular lesion in Europe and North America. It primarily presents as calcific aortic stenosis in 2-7% of the population aged >65 years.1 About 80% of adult patients with symptomatic aortic stenosis are male.

Bilateral coronary ostial stenosis and aortic regurgitation in a patient with cardiovascular syphilis [PDF]
Cardiovascular syphilis is associated with the tertiary stage of syphilis infection; it involves the ascending aorta and can cause aortic aneurysm, aortic regurgitation, and coronary ostial stenosis. We report a surgical case of bilateral coronary ostial
