Root rot of pea caused by Aphanomyces euteiches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Aphanomyces root rot, caused by the oomycete Aphanomyces euteiches, is the most important and destructive disease of pea. Since the inoculum is persistent in the soil, and no resistant cultivars or means of chemical control are available, the disease is difficult to manage.

Pathotype characterization of Aphanomyces euteiches isolates collected from pea breeding nurseries

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionAphanomyces euteiches Drechsler is an oomycete pathogen that affects legume crops, causing root rot, a severe disease of peas (Pisum sativum L.) worldwide. While significant research progress has been made in breeding pea-resistant varieties,

Effets allélopathiques des Brassicacées via leurs actions sur les agents pathogènes telluriques et les mycorhizes : analyse bibliographique. Partie II

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2005
Brassicas contain glucosinolates (GSL) which decomposition is able to reduce the growth of populations of soil-borne fungi, bacterias or nematodes. These biocid effects on soil-borne microorganisms make a form of allelopathy phenomenon.

Aphanomyces root rot in pea [PDF]

open access: yes
The cultivation of vining pea (Pisum sativum) faces significant challenges due to root rot, primarily caused by Aphanomyces euteiches, a soil-borne oomycete pathogen. Pea cultivars resistant to aphanomyces root rot (ARR) are currently lacking and common mitigation methods include crop rotation and avoidance of highly infested fields.
