Immature development of Eretmocerus mundus (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)

Arthropod Structure & Development, 2013
The development from egg to pupation is followed for the wasp Eretmocerus mundus, parasitizing the whitefly Bemisia tabaci. We elucidate and describe structural details, histological developments and changes that the different parasitoid and host tissues have undergone during parasitism.

Cytotaxonomic studies of Encarsia Förster (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)

Bulletin of Entomological Research, 1999
AbstractA cytotaxonomic study was carried out on 13 species of Encarsia Förster, known to parasitize aleyrodids and diaspidids. The chromosomes varied greatly both in number and morphology, with E. protransvena Viggiani having the lowest chromosome number (2n = 6) and E. asterobemisiae Viggiani & Mazzone the highest (2n = 20).

Biological studies ofPteroptrix smithi [Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae]

Entomophaga, 1971
The developmental history, longevity and fecundity ofPteroptrix smithi (Compere) are described and discussed. Both sexes develop as primary parasites ofChrysomphalus aonidum (L.). Developmental duration at 26°C averages 25 days and the average fecundity at this temperature is 26.5 eggs for unmated and 21.4 eggs for mated females.

Parthenogenesis‐inducing microorganisms in Aphytis (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)

Insect Molecular Biology, 1995
Abstract Production of males in uniparental lines of two species in the parasitic wasp genus Aphytis was induced by rifampicin, and male sexual functioning was determined.
