Microspore embryogenesis in the Apiaceae

open access: yes, 2012
Haploid technology is used to develop uniform, true-breeding lines, as well as to accelerate crop improvement programs. Among 20 Apiaceae species screened for response to doubled haploidy, 11 generated microspore-derived embryos, and all but one of the latter yielded doubled haploid plants.
