Arginine-directed glycation and decreased HDL plasma concentration and functionality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background/Objectives: Decreased plasma concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) is a risk factor linked to increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Decreased anti-atherogenic properties of HDL are also implicated in increased

SPADE: A Deep Learning Framework for Spatial Mapping and Quantitative Cell–Cell Interaction Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SPADE integrates spatial transcriptomics with single‐cell RNA sequencing by using cell–cell communications (CCC) as a guide for spatial mapping. It improves cell‐type localization, enhances sparse gene‐expression signals, and reveals CCC programs at single‐spot resolution.

Isoproteins of human apolipoprotein A-II: isolation and characterization.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
In human serum, polymorphism of apoA-II predominantly in HDL3 could be demonstrated. HDL3-apoA-II was composed of four isoproteins, each with a molecular weight of 8600 (reduced form) and identical immunological properties. The isoproteins are designated

APOE polymorphism and its effect on plasma C-reactive protein levels in a large general population sample

open access: yes, 2010
The literature on association between apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene variations and plasma levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) remains inconsistent, mainly due to low statistical power of previous studies.

Cholesterol Laundry of Cell Membrane and Fatty Liver by Detergent Liposomes to Improve Anti‐Cancer Drug Responsiveness of Patient Liver Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cholesterol‐enriched plasma membranes in hepatocellular carcinoma impede drug penetration. Cholesterol (+)‐liposomes act as membrane‐specific detergents, extracting cholesterol and reducing barrier function without cytotoxicity. Following endocytosis, cholesterol transfers from endosomes to liposomes and is metabolized in the ER.

One-step screening method for the polymorphism of apolipoproteins A-I, A-II, and A-IV

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1982
Apolipoprotein A-I exhibits a polymorphism that can be easily investigated in native serum by a simple method involving incubation of serum in the presence of decylsulfate and beta-mercaptoethanol and subsequent isoelectric focusing.

Apolipoprotein C-II deficiency: detection of immunoreactive apolipoprotein C-II in the intestinal mucosa of two patients

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1988
Recent data suggest that mutant immunoreactive forms of apolipoprotein C-II (apoC-II) can be detected in the plasma of patients with the apoC-II deficiency syndrome. We studied the possible presence of apoC-II mutants in the plasma of two patients with apoC-II deficiency by immunological means.

Human apolipoprotein A-II inhibits the formation of pre-beta high density lipoproteins

open access: yes, 1996
The role of human apolipoprotein A-II (apoA-II) in the remodeling of human high density lipoproteins (HDL) was investigated during incubation of native and reduced-carboxamidomethylated (RCM) HDL3 with a lipoprotein-depleted plasma fraction (LPDP) in the

A Robust Deep Temporal Causal Discovery Platform for Single‐Cell Gene Regulatory Network Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
scTIGER2.0 is a deep‐learning framework that infers gene regulatory networks from single‐cell RNA sequencing data. By integrating correlation, pseudotime ordering, deep learning and bootstrap‐based significance testing, it reduces false positives and reveals directional gene interactions.

Depletion in LpA-I:A-II particles enhances HDL-mediated endothelial protection in familial LCAT deficiency[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2017
The aim of this study was to evaluate the vasoprotective effects of HDL isolated from carriers of LCAT deficiency, which are characterized by a selective depletion of LpA-I:A-II particles and predominance of preβ migrating HDL.
