Acute exposure to apolipoprotein A1 inhibits macrophage chemotaxis in vitro and monocyte recruitment in vivo

open access: yeseLife, 2016
Apolipoprotein A1 (apoA1) is the major protein component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and has well documented anti-inflammatory properties. To better understand the cellular and molecular basis of the anti-inflammatory actions of apoA1, we explored ...

Gene structure of human apolipoprotein A1.

open access: yesNucleic acids research, 1983
Apolipoprotein A1 is the major polypeptide of the human plasma high density lipoprotein (HDL). The structure and function of the apo A1 gene are of interest because of the inverse correlation shown between HDL levels and coronary heart disease. We have determined the nucleotide sequence of the apo A1 gene previously isolated.

Nutritional and Behavioral Intervention for Long‐Term Childhood Acute Leukemia Survivors With Metabolic Syndrome

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

High‐Throughput In Vivo Screening Using Barcoded mRNA Identifies Lipid Nanoparticles With Extrahepatic Tropism for In Situ Immunoengineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
A high‐throughput in vivo mRNA LNP screening platform is developed and employed to screen a large library of 122 mRNA LNPs in vivo for delivery to immune, stromal, and parenchymal cells, identifying promising LNP candidates. A novel small particle flow cytometry‐based protein adsorption analysis method is utilized to interrogate protein corona ...

Navigating the Ethereal Tightrope: The Nanogenerator Manipulates Neurons for Immune Equilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
This review explores how nanogenerators modulate neuroimmune responses, offering innovative strategies for treating neurological disorders. By interfacing with neural pathways, they enable precise control of immune activity, especially via vagus nerve stimulation.

Serum apolipoprotein A1: a predictor and prognostic biomarker in acute ischemic stroke

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery, 2019
Background The apolipoprotein A1 level is recognized as a better indicator of cardiovascular disease than other cholesterol measures. Objectives To assess the serum level of ApoA1 in acute stroke patients and correlate it with the degree of vessel ...

The spleen–brain axis in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias: Integrating immune and metabolic regulation

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Emerging evidence highlights the central role of peripheral immune–metabolic regulation in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Among peripheral organs, the spleen has gained increasing attention as a critical immune–metabolic hub linking systemic homeostasis to central neurodegeneration.

Physical activity, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and other lipids levels, in men and women from the ATTICA study

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2003
Background Physical activity has long been associated with reduced risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). In this work we evaluated the effect of physical activity on lipid levels, in a sample of cardiovascular disease free people.

Genetic architecture of plasma pTau217 and related biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease via genome‐wide association studies

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION We aimed to define the genetic architecture and regulatory mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease (AD) ‐related plasma biomarkers in an East Asian population. METHODS Genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) of plasma phosphorylated tau at threonine 217 (pTau217), pTau181, neurofilament light chain (NfL), and glial fibrillary acidic ...
