Apolipoprotein A1 Baltimore (Arg10→Leu), a new ApoA1 variant
Human Genetics, 1990A new apolipoprotein A1 (APOA1) gene variant has been identified in a family ascertained through a proband undergoing coronary angiography. The variant, ApoA1 Baltimore, was due to a mutation at codon 34 of the third exon of the APOA1 gene (CGA to CTA) that resulted in an arginine-to-leucine substitution at the tenth amino acid of the mature ApoA1 and ...

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between Apo B/Apo, LDL/HDL and the metabolic syndrome. Apolipoprotein B, APO B/APO A1 ratio and the ratio LDL/HDL cholesterol can be used as indicators of metabolic syndrome. The ratios APO B/APO A1 and LDL/HDL cholesterol allow for more accurate risk assessment of metabolic syndrome.

Expression of apolipoprotein A1 in colonic adenocarcinoma.
Anticancer research, 2003In an effort to find proteins overexpressed in metastatic colonic adenocarcinomas, differential proteome analyses were undertaken using primary and metastatic tumors. Two-dimensional-gel profiles showed a number of spots that appeared in metastatic tumor in liver, but not in primary tumor.

Thyroxine-binding prealbumin, overnutrition and apolipoprotein A1.
Human nutrition. Clinical nutrition, 1986Thyroxine-binding prealbumin (TBPA) seems to be more useful than other biochemical markers for the detection of subclinical protein-energy malnutrition. Accordingly, one can question whether its sensitivity to nutritional supply could be used in healthy populations for the discrimination of groups with low or high energy intakes; if such were the case,
