A Study of Serum Apolipoprotein A1, Apolipoprotein B and Lipid Profile in Stroke [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2013
Background: Role of Serum Lipids, Lipoproteins and Lipoprotein related variables in the prediction of Stroke is less clear. Abnormalities in plasma Lipoproteins are the most firmly established and best understood risk factors for Atherosclerosis and ...

Assessment of causal association between differentiated thyroid cancer and disordered serum lipid profile: a Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
BackgroundResearch has shown that the disordered serum lipid profile may be associated with the risk of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Whether this association reflect causal effect is still unclear.

Association of apolipoprotein B, apolipoprotein A, and the its ratio with body fat distribution

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2013
Background: To evaluate the association of apolipoprotein B (apoB), apolipoprotein A (apoA), and apoB/apoA ratio with the body fat indicators in patients with stable angina pectoris (SA).

Dynamic interfacial properties of human apolipoproteins A-IV and B-17 at the air/water and oil/water interface

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2000
Viscoelastic behavior of proteins at interfaces is a critical determinant of their ability to stabilize emulsions. We therefore used air bubble surfactometry and drop volume tensiometry to examine the dynamic interfacial properties of two plasma ...

Looking Beyond LDL-Cholesterol - A Study on Extended Lipid Profile in Indian Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2019
Introduction: Assessment of dyslipidemia with only Total Cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TGL), Low- and High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C, HDL-C) levels, Standard Lipid Profile (SLP), leads to under-estimation of dyslipidemia as a risk factor ...

The causal effects of thyroid function and lipids on cholelithiasis: A Mendelian randomization analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between function of thyroid, lipids, and cholelithiasis and to identify whether lipids mediate the causal relationship between function of thyroid and cholelithiasis.MethodsA Mendelian randomization (MR) study of ...

Degradation of human apolipoprotein B‐100 by apolipoprotein(a)

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1993
Human plasma low density lipoproteine (LDL) contain a very high molecular weight protein termed apoB‐100 (M r = 550,000). In many samples of LDL, minor components designated as apoB‐74 (M r = 407,000) and apoB‐26 (M r = 145,000) are present. It has been shown that they can arise as a result of proteolytic degradation of apoB‐100.

Apolipoprotein E polymorphism alters the association between body fatness and plasma lipoproteins in women.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
The aim of the present study was to investigate the associations between total adiposity, body fat distribution, and plasma lipoprotein levels within groups of women defined on the basis of apolipoprotein E phenotypes, in order to verify whether apoE ...
