Interaction of apolipoprotein(a) with apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
Recombinant DNA-derived apolipoprotein(a) was used to demonstrate that the apo(a) moiety of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) is responsible for the binding of Lp(a) to other apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (apoB-Lp) including LDL2, a subclass of low density lipoproteins (d = 1.030-1.063 g/ml).

The secondary structure of apolipoprotein A-I on 9.6-nm reconstituted high-density lipoprotein determined by EPR spectroscopy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) is the major protein component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and is critical for maintenance of cholesterol homeostasis.

The effects of apolipoprotein B depletion on HDL subspecies composition and function[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2016
HDL cholesterol (HDL-C) efflux function may be a more robust biomarker of coronary artery disease risk than HDL-C. To study HDL function, apoB-containing lipoproteins are precipitated from serum.

Adrenocorticotrophic hormone lowers serum Lp(a) and LDL cholesterol concentrations in hemodialysis patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Adrenocorticotrophic hormone lowers serum Lp(a) and LDL cholesterol concentrations in hemodialysis patients. Previously, we have shown that short-term administration of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) results in reduced concentrations of ...

[5] Apolipoprotein B-48

open access: yes, 1996
Publisher Summary The methods discussed in this chapter provide fairly simple, sensitive, and reliable means of determining the content of apoB-48 and apoB-100 in Sf>12 lipoproteins, by analytical sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), with subsequent conventional protein staining and gel scanning.

Apolipoprotein M [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Apolipoprotein M (apoM) is a 26-kDa protein that is mainly associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in human plasma, with a small proportion present in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TGRLP) and low-density lipoproteins (LDL).

Association between psoriasis and serum apolipoprotein A1 and B: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Background: Psoriasis has been linked to dyslipidemia. However, the magnitude of the association between psoriasis and serum apolipoproteins A1 and B remains unclear.

Consensus document for lipid profile testing and reporting in Spanish clinical laboratories: what parameters should a basic lipid profile include?

open access: yesAdvances in Laboratory Medicine, 2023
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) continue to be the main cause of death in our country. Adequate control of lipid metabolism disorders is a key challenge in cardiovascular prevention that is far from being achieved in real clinical practice.

Lumican silencing ameliorates β-glycerophosphate-mediated vascular smooth muscle cell calcification by attenuating the inhibition of APOB on KIF2C activity

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2023
Adverse cardiovascular events are associated with vascular calcification (VC) process, where vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) differentiate into osteoblastic phenotype and deposit hydroxyapatite crystals. Microtubule-associated protein kinesin family

Association of Early Renal Dysfunction with Lipid Profile Parameters among Hypertensives in Kazakhstan

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Dyslipidemia plays an essential role in chronic kidney disease (CKD). The role of lipids and lipoproteins in the early pre-disease state of CKD in hypertensive patients is still unclear.
