Effect of using Trampoline on the development of functional efficiency of the vestibular apparatus on composite balance for One and Half Forward Somersault pike in diving sport [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sports Science and Arts, 2019
The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of proposed training program using trampoline for development of functional efficiency of the vestibular apparatus system on the composite balance and improvement of skill performance.

Silence and fog: on gesture, time, and historicity in the films of Aleksandr Sokurov

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, I analyse gesture, iconography, and landscape construction in Aleksandr Sokurov’s lms to reveal their distinct handling of time and commitment to the historicity of their imagery.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

The apparatus theory: ‘Religion in the city’

open access: yesHTS Teologiese Studies/Theological Studies, 2018
The apparatus theory is used to challenge the interpretation of religion and also to determine whether religion is a factor to contend with in modern society.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Écrire numérique : du texte littéraire entendu comme processus

open access: yesItinéraires, 2015
Taking into account digital literary writings, I propose to identify their main characteristics that may shed light on these texts’ processes. Building from the notion of apparatus (dispositif) proposed by Ortel, Lojkine and Rykner, this paper aims to ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

A Graphene Composite Film Based Wearable Far‐Infrared Therapy Apparatus (GRAFT) for Effective Prevention of Postoperative Peritoneal Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Postoperative peritoneal adhesion (PPA) is the most frequent complication after abdominal surgery. Current anti‐adhesion strategies largely rely on the use of physical separating barriers creating an interface blocking peritoneal adhesion, which cannot ...
