Identification of hub genes involved in apparent metabolizable energy of chickens
Feed efficiency is one of the most economically significant traits in a breeding program. Apparent metabolizable energy is the most used method to evaluate energy utilization for feed efficiency. The purpose of this study was to identify candidate genes of chickens with divergent apparent metabolizable energy by bioinformatics analysis.

Apparent Metabolizable Energy of Glycerin for Broiler Chickens
Three energy balance experiments were conducted to determine AMEn of glycerin using broiler chickens of diverse ages. In experiment 1, two dietary treatments were fed from 4 to 11 d of age. Dietary treatments consisted of a control diet (no added glycerin) and a diet containing 6% glycerin (94% control diet + 6% glycerin).

In Vitro Estimation of Apparent Metabolizable Energy
Abstract A number of experiments were carried out to determine if a two stage in vitro method developed for monogastrics could, using in vitro digestible energy (IVDE), estimate the nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy (AMEn) of poultry diets.

Influence of ruminal degradable intake protein restriction on characteristics of digestion and growth performance of feedlot cattle during the late finishing phase. [PDF]
Two trials were conducted to evaluate the influence of supplemental urea withdrawal on characteristics of digestion (Trial 1) and growth performance (Trial 2) of feedlot cattle during the last 40 days on feed.

Response to dietary tannin challenges in view of the browser/grazer dichotomy in an Ethiopian setting : Bonga sheep versus Kaffa goats [PDF]
It has been suggested that goats (typical browser) are better adapted to digest tannin-rich diets than sheep (typical grazer). To evaluate this, Bonga sheep and Kaffa goats were used in a 2x3 randomized crossover design with two species, three diets, and

Apparent and true metabolizable energy values of feedstuffs for ducks
Two experiments were conducted, each with 24 White Pekin ducks, to determine the AME and TME content of five feedstuffs for ducks. In each experiment, fasting losses were obtained from six ducks and six ducks were used for each feedstuff. Each experiment lasted 102 h with an initial 48-h period and a 54-h excreta collection period.
