Motherhood: The key to the glass ceiling ? the case of the big four in France [PDF]
Women in public accounting firms are still proportionally much fewer in the highest levels of the hierarchy than men, whereas the recruitement at a junior level tends to be more and more gender balanced.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

BioGoldNCDB: A Database of Gold Nanoclusters and Related Nanoparticles with Biomedical Activity
Interest in gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) has grown significantly in recent decades. AuNCs, with a core size smaller than 2 nm, represent a unique class of functional nanomaterials.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Advances and Application of Polyphenol Oxidase Immobilization Technology in Plants
Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) is a metalloproteinase widely present in plant organelles that plays crucial roles in photosynthesis, pest and disease resistance, growth and development, and flower color formation. Due to the high cost and reuse difficulties of

Prestigious organizations and heterodox choice in institutionally plural contexts [PDF]
In unsettled fields with multiple ideal-typical institutional logics, why do organizations tend to weaken or conform to prevalent logic order? The authors argue that prestige, defined as a tribute paid by field members to a select few with valued ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

On the maxmin value of stochastic games with imperfect monitoring [PDF]
We study zero-sum stochastic games in which players do not observe the actions of the opponent. Rather, they observe a stochastic signal that may depend on the state, and on the pair of actions chosen by the players.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
