USB1 deficiency disrupts neutrophil maturation via RNA dysregulation independent of global pre‐mRNA splicing

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the essential role of USB1 in neutrophil maturation. In normal myeloid cells, USB1 acts as an RNA exonuclease, trimming RNA tails to maintain proper RNA network function, which supports the differentiation of myeloid progenitor cells into mature neutrophils.

MiR‐30a‐5p mediates epileptogenesis in epilepsy models by targeting SOX4 to regulate the Wnt/β‐catenin pathway

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The pathogenesis of epilepsy is closely associated with neuronal synaptic plasticity. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can regulate various biological processes by binding to specific sequences on target genes. This study employs bioinformatics, molecular dynamics, and experimental approaches to investigate the mechanism by which MiR‐30a‐5p treats

Expressions for some hypergeometric functions of matrix argument with applications

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 1975
AbstractReasonably simple expressions are given for some hypergeometric functions when the size of the argument matrix or matrices is two. Applications of these expressions in connection with the distributions of the latent roots of a 2 × 2 Wishart matrix are also given.

Transcriptomic signatures reveal systemic adaptations and immune modulation in response to training and competitive racing in horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The molecular mechanisms underlying adaptation to physical exertion and racing stress in horses remain incompletely understood. Peripheral blood transcriptomics offers a minimally invasive method to monitor systemic responses to exercise and identify biomarkers of adaptation or overload. Objectives To evaluate transcriptomic changes

On the expansion of the Kummer function in terms of incomplete Gamma functions

open access: yes, 2003
The expansion of Kummer's hypergeometric function as a series of incomplete Gamma functions is discussed, for real values of the parameters and of the variable.

Alternative Price Dynamics and Valuation of Flexible Strategies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this article, we study the optimal operational strategy of production projects. We investigate different underlying price models and determine the optimal barriers of transition to suspension, recovery, or irreversible abandonment of productive activity.

Monocytes with trained immunity–like signatures are associated with acute anterior uveitis in ankylosing spondylitis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
In ankylosing spondylitis‐acute anterior uveitis (AS‐AAU), trained immunity monocytes (Mono‐TI) differentiate into macrophages in the eye, retaining trained immunity features. Mono‐TI cells secrete pro‐inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, including IL‐1β, TNF‐α, and CCL3.

A highly accurate numerical method for solving boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...

Finite Biorthogonal Polynomials Suggested by the Finite Orthogonal Polynomials Mnp,qx$$ {M}_n^{\left(p,q\right)}(x) $$

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Constructing a biorthogonal structure from scratch, that is, defining a biorthogonal pair is quite tough. Because here the orthogonality must be established between two different sets. There are four known univariate biorthogonal polynomial sets, suggested by Laguerre, Jacobi, Hermite and Szegő‐Hermite polynomials, in the literature.
