Relaxation-to-creep transition of domain-wall motion in two- dimensional random-field Ising model with ac driving field

open access: yes, 2010
With Monte Carlo simulations, we investigate the relaxation dynamics with a domain wall for magnetic systems at the critical temperature. The dynamic scaling behavior is carefully analyzed, and a dynamic roughening process is observed.

Mathematical analysis of parallel convective exchangers with general lateral boundary conditions using generalized graetz modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a mathematical analysis of parallel convective exchangers for any general but longitudinally invariant domains. We analyze general Dirichlet or Neumann prescribed boundary conditions at the outer solid domain.

Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism-Spectrum Disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The purpose of my research was to inform others about the facts of applied behavior analysis. Before researching ABA, I had a basic understanding, or I should say misunderstanding, of the use and practice of this treatment.

A Quality Improvement Initiative to Standardize Pneumocystis jirovecii Pneumonia Prophylaxis in Pediatric Patients With Solid Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric patients with extracranial solid tumors (ST) receiving chemotherapy are at an increased risk for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP). However, evidence guiding prophylaxis practices in this population is limited. A PJP‐related fatality at our institution highlighted inconsistent prescribing approaches and concerns about

Effect of Narrative Intervention with Strategy Instruction on the Listening and Reading Comprehension of Children with Autism

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences
Some children with autism may require additional support to meet academic expectations for comprehension. Because an extensive set of research links oral narration to listening and reading comprehension, the promotion of narrative-based skills may be a ...

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Transient stability analysis using potential energy indices for determining critical generator sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we propose the enhancement of existing power system stability analysis techniques through the use of a proposed set of potential energy indices, applied for observing the separation of generators into critical sets during transient events.
