Global trends and knowledge structure of cardiovascular magnetocardiography research: a bibliometric analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundCardiovascular diseases remain a leading global health threat. Recent advances in room-temperature sensing and artificial intelligence (AI) have renewed research interest in the clinical translation of magnetocardiography (MCG) for ...

Pressure-induced metallization and superconducting phase in ReS 2

open access: yesnpj Quantum Materials, 2017
High-pressure physics: transitions and superconductivity of compressed ReS2 ReS2 is a unique transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) in terms of its distorted low-symmetry structure at ambient conditions.

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Colossal Seebeck effect enhanced by quasi-ballistic phonons dragging massive electrons in FeSb2

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Thermoelectric performances depend on phonon and electron transport. Here, Takahashi et al. show that the large Seebeck coefficient observed in high-purity single-crystal FeSb2 is due to the phonon-drag effect and to the high effective mass of delectrons

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Post Mortem Validation of MRI-Identified Veins on the Surface of the Cerebral Cortex as Potential Landmarks for Neurosurgery

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2017
Background and Objective: Image-guided neurosurgery uses information from a wide spectrum of methods to inform the neurosurgeon's judgement about which tissue to resect and which to spare.

Solar magnetic field reversal as seen at Ulysses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The rapid motion of the Ulysses spacecraft from high southern to high northern latitudes in 2000–2001 provided an excellent opportunity to make inferences regarding the solar magnetic dipole's behaviour around solar maximum.
