Constrained approximate controllability

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2000
Summary: Constrained approximate controllability for linear dynamical systems described by abstract differential equations with unbounded control operator is considered. Using methods of spectral analysis for linear self-adjoint operators and general constrained controllability results given by \textit{N. K. Son} [J. Math. Anal. Appl.

Approximation and Control

1994
In this chapter, we analyse three further matrix least squares estimation problems. The first is concerned with the task of approximating matrices by lower rank ones. This has immediate relevance to total least squares estimation and representations by linear neural networks. The section also serves as a prototype for linear system approximation.

Approximate minimum energy control

AIAA Journal, 1970
A computationally simple approximation to the minimum energy controller for a linear system is achieved by reducing the complexity of the mathematical model of the system. After specifying the criterion for identifying an optimal model of lower order, the required model boundary conditions are deduced.

Partial Approximate Controllability for Linear Stochastic Control Systems

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2019
Summary: This paper is devoted to studying controllability problems of linear stochastic control systems with controls only in the drift terms. It is well-known that such a system is not exactly controllable. We first construct an example to show that it is also not approximately controllable under some natural condition.

Approximate Identification for Robust Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1997
Abstract This paper discusses results related to approximate identification for robust control. The criteria for modeling and identification are formulated in terms of ℒ or ℋ norm. Emphasis is made on the construction of a model set by specifying bases in function spaces ℒ, ℋ or in the disc algebra A.

Approximate controllability of semilinear control systems

Proceeding of the 11th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2014
The approximate controllability for a class of control systems governed by semilinear differential equations is discussed in this paper. Sufficient conditions for approximate controllability are obtained under some natural assumptions. An example is provided at the end of the paper to illustrate the application of the established approximate ...

Approximate time-optimal control via approximate alternating simulations

Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010
Symbolic models of control systems have recently been used to synthesize controllers enforcing specifications given by temporal logics, regular languages, or automata. These specification mechanisms can be regarded as qualitative since they divide the set of trajectories into bad trajectories (those that should be eliminated by control) and good ...
