Approximate Circular Pattern Matching under Edit Distance

In the $k$-Edit Circular Pattern Matching ($k$-Edit CPM) problem, we are given a length-$n$ text $T$, a length-$m$ pattern $P$, and a positive integer threshold $k$, and we are to report all starting positions of the substrings of $T$ that are at edit distance at most $k$ from some cyclic rotation of $P$.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Decreased cold‐sensing function of the transient receptor potential channel TRPM8 from tailed amphibians

Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.
