A method to obtain the best uniform polynomial approximation for the family of rational function [PDF]
In this article, by using Chebyshev’s polynomials and Chebyshev’s expansion, we obtain the best uniform polynomial approximation out of P2n to a class of rational functions of the form (ax2+c)-1 on any non symmetric interval [d,e].

Exact solution of the Percus-Yevick integral equation for fluid mixtures of hard hyperspheres [PDF]
Structural and thermodynamic properties of multicomponent hard-sphere fluids at odd dimensions have recently been derived in the framework of the rational function approximation (RFA) [Rohrmann and Santos, Phys. Rev. E \textbf{83}, 011201 (2011)].

Multivariate approximation by polynomial and generalized rational functions
In this paper we develop an optimisation based approach to multivariate Chebyshev approximation on a finite grid. We consider two models: multivariate polynomial approximation and multivariate generalised rational approximation. In the second case the approximations are ratios of linear forms and the basis functions are not limited to monomials.

Approximation by quotients of rational inner functions [PDF]
Let u be a continuous unimodular function on the n-dimensional torus T n {T^n} . It is shown that u can be uniformly approximated by quotients of rational inner functions.

Support vector machine (SVM) is a new machine learning method developed from statistical learning theory. Since the objective function of the unconstrained SVM model is a non-smooth function, a lot of fast optimization algorithms can't be used to find ...

Arithmetic purity of strong approximation for homogeneous spaces [PDF]
We prove that any open subset $U$ of a semi-simple simply connected quasi-split linear algebraic group $G$ with ${codim} (G\setminus U, G)\geq 2$ over a number field satisfies strong approximation by establishing a fibration of $G$ over a toric variety ...

The Investigation of the Discrete Universality of L-Functions of Elliptic Curves
In the paper, we prove the discrete universality theorem in the sense of the weak convergence of probability measures in the space of analytic functions for the L-functions of elliptic curves.
