Approximation method for a fractional order transfer function with zero and pole
The paper presents an approximation method for elementary fractional order transfer function containing both pole and zero. This class of transfer functions can be applied for example to build model - based special control algorithms. The proposed method

A new method for the integer order approximation of fractional order models
This paper is concerned with the finite–dimensional approximation of a fractional–order system represented in state–space form. To this purpose, resort is made to the Oustaloup method for approximating a fractional–order integrator by a rational filter ...

The Second-Order Born Approximation in Diffuse Optical Tomography
Diffuse optical tomography is used to find the optical parameters of a turbid medium with infrared red light. The problem is mathematically formulated as a nonlinear problem to find the solution for the diffusion operator mapping the optical coefficients

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Improved first order mean spherical approximation for simple fluids
A perturbation approach based on the first-order mean spherical approximation (FMSA) is proposed. It consists in adopting a hard-sphere plus short-range attractive Yukawa fluid as the novel reference system, over which the perturbative solution of the ...

In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...
