Optimizing Service Differentiation Scheme with Sized-based Queue Management in DiffServ Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we introduced Modified Sized-based Queue Management as a dropping scheme that aims to fairly prioritize and allocate more service to VoIP traffic over bulk data like FTP as the former one usually has small packet size with less impact to ...

Multiclass AQM on a TCP/IP router: A control theory approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2019
Active queue management (AQM) is a well‐known technique to improve routing performance under congested traffic conditions. It is often deployed to regulate queue sizes, thus aiming for constant transmission delay.

On the Design of the TCP/AQM Traffic Flow Control Mechanisms

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2012
Several aspects of the TCP/AQM system design are discussed that may affect performance of the network. Namely, due to decentralized structure of the network traffic flow control system in which traffic rate control tasks are delegated to autonomous ...

Probabilistic Linear Solvers: A Unifying View

open access: yes, 2018
Several recent works have developed a new, probabilistic interpretation for numerical algorithms solving linear systems in which the solution is inferred in a Bayesian framework, either directly or by inferring the unknown action of the matrix inverse ...

Transient behaviour of PI-controlled AQM

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2006
A method is proposed for estimating the regulating time of PI-controlledAQM, which is closely related to the transient response time. It is shown that the regulating time of the PI-controlled AQM is explicitly related to its chosen parameter values and the network condition. Finally, comparisons show that the estimation is sufficiently accurate.

Evaluation of the Quality of Service of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Using Active Queue Management (AQM)

open access: yesRevista Cubana de Ingeniería, 2010
This paper presents a comprehensive study about the impact of active queue management (AQM) on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) quality of service. One of the most representative AQM scheme is analyzed through extensive simulation and its effect on ...
