Effect of time to initiation and dose of methylprednisolone on outcome in multiple sclerosis‐related optic neuritis

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, Volume 16, Issue 4, Page 341-347, November 2025.
Abstract Objectives It is known that the benefit of intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) in multiple sclerosis‐related optic neuritis (MS‐ON) is limited to an accelerated recovery. We aimed to evaluate the impact of time from symptoms onset to IVMP initiation and of IVMP dose on visual recovery among people with MS‐ON.

Diagnosis and treatment of occipital brain lesions in children

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 67, Issue 11, Page 1409-1420, November 2025.
Occipital brain lesions in children represent a diagnostic challenge due to the large spectrum of etiologies and overlapping clinical features. This review analyses common and less common causes of occipital brain lesions in children, including malformative, vascular, genetic/metabolic, infectious, inflammatory, and neoplastic conditions.

Serum Neurofilament Light Is Associated With Future Disease Activity in Clinically Isolated Syndrome and Early Multiple Sclerosis Only After Non‐Optic Neuritis Onset

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background We compared the prognostic value of serum neurofilament light chain (sNFL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) for clinical and radiologic disease activity among patients with clinically isolated syndrome or early multiple sclerosis (MS) with optic neuritis (pwON) and non‐optic neuritis (pwNON) as the first manifestation ...

Alterations in Cerebrospinal Fluid Density Following Contrast Administration in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction The degree of iodine clearance from the parenchyma in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) has not been determined. The aim of our study was to measure changes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) density in patients with AIS relative to controls.

Complementary Roles of DNA Methylation and miRNA in Regulating Gene Expression Under Environmental Stress in Biological Invasions

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 18, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Biological invasions significantly threaten global biodiversity and disrupt the stability of ecosystems worldwide. Effective responses to environmental stressors are crucial for invasion success; however, the underlying epigenetic regulatory mechanisms remain poorly understood, especially regarding the interplay among multiple regulatory ...
