Aqueous humor dynamics in rats

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1996
In order to determine normal outflow facility and aqueous humor production values in Lewis rats, we established methods of measuring aqueous humor dynamics in this animal.Outflow facility was determined using anterior chamber infusion with constant pressure.

Aqueous Humor Angiography

Aqueous humor angiography, or aqueous angiography, is an anterior segment imaging technique capable of visualizing the conventional/trabecular aqueous humor outflow pathways. As a translational technique, it is applicable for in vivo imaging in living subjects and ex vivo imaging using whole-globe preparations or anterior segment perfusion setups ...

THE REGENERATION OF THE AQUEOUS HUMOR

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1929
The regeneration of the aqueous humor has been the subject of many heated discussions during the past few years; these followed Hagen's 1 first article in 1920, but the subject had been studied for many years previously. In table 1, I have endeavored to point out the theories of most of the investigators who have dealt with this problem.

The Biology of the Aqueous Humor

1983
Classic thinkingabout the causes for increased intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma have been mechanical in orientation. Mechanistic analogies to the obstruction of drain pipes fit well with our current understanding of the pathophysiology of angle closure glaucoma.

THE AQUEOUS HUMOR IN GLAUCOMA

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1931
It may appear somewhat bold to renounce old creeds, but no progress can be made in any specialty unless one seeks to interpret clinical facts in the light of the fundamental principles which present day physiology puts at one's disposal. For fifty years we ophthalmologists have been building theories on erroneous ideas as far as the ocular fluids are ...

Agar Microelectrophoresis of the Aqueous Humor

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1958
Electrophoretic determination of protein values in normal aqueous humor offers considerable difficulties, owing to the following two factors: Proteins are present only in minute quantities, whereas there are considerable quantities of salts as against the low protein concentration. I.

Hyaluronate in Human Aqueous Humor

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1983
Samples of aqueous humor obtained at cataract operations were analyzed for sodium hyaluronate by a recently developed radioassay. The mean value +/- SD of 47 samples was 1.14 +/- 0.46 micrograms/g. The samples from patients with diabetes and/or glaucoma did not differ substantially from the general distribution.

Aqueous humor dynamics and the iris

Medical Hypotheses, 2003
Solutes concentration in the aqueous humor of the eye is highest near the ciliary processes in the posterior chamber (p.c.) and lowest near the trabecular meshwork in the anterior chamber (a.c.). The high osmotic gradient across the semipermeable iris causes it to easily move forward at this location and occasionally occlude the iridocorneal angle ...

Aqueous Humor Dynamics

A.M.A. Archives of Ophthalmology, 1955
In a series of papers, Kinsey * developed the technique of posterior chamber taps and has applied this technique both to the study of steady-state relations between plasma and posterior and anterior chamber concentrations of normal constituents3and to the analysis of aqueous humor dynamics as disclosed by the changing concentrations of a test substance
