Update on adaptor protein-3 in Arabidopsis [PDF]
Adaptor proteins (APs) mediate protein sorting within endomembrane compartments in eukaryotic cells. AP-3 is an ancient AP complex mediating vacuolar trafficking in different phyla. Only recently, a few tonoplast proteins have been identified as AP-3 cargos in Arabidopsis whereas the function of AP-3 was largely unexplored.

Background The ACT domain, named after bacterial aspartate kinase, chorismate mutase and TyrA (prephenate dehydrogenase), is a regulatory domain that serves as an amino acid-binding site in feedback-regulated amino acid metabolic enzymes.

Characterization of the Arabidopsis Heterotrimeric G Protein [PDF]
We have used fluorescence resonance energy transfer and co-immunoprecipitation to analyze the interactions among the alpha, beta, and gamma1 subunits of the Arabidopsis heterotrimeric G protein. Using cyan and yellow fluorescent protein fusion constructs, we show that overexpressed Ggamma1 localizes to protoplast membranes, but Gbeta exhibits membrane ...

Genome-wide analysis of CCCH zinc finger family in Arabidopsis and rice
Background Genes in the CCCH family encode zinc finger proteins containing the motif with three cysteines and one histidine residues. They have been known to play important roles in RNA processing as RNA-binding proteins in animals.

Meiotic recombination is initiated from the formation of DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs). In Arabidopsis, several proteins, such as AtPRD1, AtPRD2, AtPRD3, AtDFO and topoisomerase (Topo) VI-like complex, have been identified as playing important roles in

Phosphorylation of plastoglobular proteins inArabidopsis thaliana [PDF]
Plastoglobules (PGs) are plastid lipid-protein particles with a small specialized proteome and metabolome. Among the 30 core PG proteins are six proteins of the ancient ABC1 atypical kinase (ABC1K) family and their locations in an Arabidopsis mRNA-based co-expression network suggested central regulatory roles.

Genome-wide identification and analysis of the TIFY gene family in grape. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The TIFY gene family constitutes a plant-specific group of genes with a broad range of functions. This family encodes four subfamilies of proteins, including ZML, TIFY, PPD and JASMONATE ZIM-Domain (JAZ) proteins.

In vivo protein tyrosine nitration in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]
Nitration of tyrosine (Y) residues of proteins is a low abundant post-translational modification that modulates protein function or fate in animal systems. However, very little is known about the in vivo prevalence of this modification and its corresponding targets in plants.

AtPIN: Arabidopsis thaliana Protein Interaction Network [PDF]
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) constitute one of the most crucial conditions to sustain life in living organisms. To study PPI in Arabidopsis thaliana we have developed AtPIN, a database and web interface for searching and building interaction networks based on publicly available protein-protein interaction datasets. All interactions were divided ...
