A Near Telomere‐To‐Telomere Genome Assembly of Coffea arabica (Mundo Novo) Provides Insights Into Its Secondary Metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) dominates global coffee production, accounting for over 60% of the world's coffee trade. The Mundo Novo cultivar, predominantly grown in Yunnan, China, represents a significant germplasm resource. However, the absence of a high‐quality reference genome has hindered comprehensive genetic research and in‐depth ...

Structural analyses of ABA transporters give new impetus to the study of ABA regulation

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
Abscisic acid (ABA) regulates key physiological processes and coordinates abiotic stress responses. In the six decades since it was first described, a huge amount of work has been conducted on ABA synthesis, breakdown and signalling mechanisms. Recently, attention has been turned to the role of ABA transporters, and the elucidation in exquisite detail ...

Plasticity in climate change responses

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent research has shown that climate change can both induce and modulate the expression of plastic traits but our understanding of the role of phenotypic plasticity as an adaptive response to climate change is limited. In this review, we dissect the mechanisms and impact of phenotypic plasticity as a response to accumulating climatic ...

Circulating hsa‐miR‐29c‐3p and VEGF‐A levels predict the response to FOLFIRI plus aflibercept in elderly metastatic colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, EarlyView.
Metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients who progress on oxaliplatin‐based chemotherapy benefit from second‐line treatment with FOLFIRI plus aflibercept. However, the absence of validated biomarkers for antiangiogenic therapies remains a challenge. Circulating levels of VEGF‐A and 13 miRNAs were analysed in 154 elderly mCRC patients.
