Production of Prenylated Stilbenoids in Hairy Root Cultures of Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) and Its Wild Relatives A. ipaensis and A. duranensis via an Optimized Elicitation Procedure

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Prenylated stilbenoids are phenolic compounds produced in a small number of plants such as peanut (Arachis hypogaea) to counteract biotic and abiotic stresses.

A novel water‐soluble near‐infrared fluorescent probe for monitoring viscosity fluctuations in plants and zebrafish under abiotic stresses

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
HJA‐MQ‐D exhibits a rapid and sensitive response to viscosity changes based on the twisted intramolecular charge transfer mechanism. Displaying near‐infrared emission and excellent water‐solubility, enabling imaging at the cellular and whole plant level.

Arachis virus Y, a new potyvirid from Brazilian forage peanut (Arachis pintoi)

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2020
The complete nucleotide sequence of a new member of the family Potyviridae, which we propose to name "Arachis virus Y" (ArVY), is reported from forage peanut plants (Arachis pintoi) exhibiting virus-like symptoms. The ArVY positive-sense RNA genome is 9,213 nucleotides long and encodes a polyprotein with 2,947 amino acids that is predicted to be ...

Storage stability of whole and nibbed, conventional and high oleic peanuts (Arachis hypogeae L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Peanuts are increasingly being used as nibbed ingredients in cereal bars, confectionery and breakfast cereals. However, studies on their oxidative stability in this format are limited.

Food without fire: Environmental and nutritional impacts from a solar stove field experiment

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Over 80% of the population in rural Sub‐Saharan Africa relies on biomass cooking fuel, a substantial source of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. We use a field experiment in Zambia to investigate the impact of solar stoves on biomass fuel use and cooking habits.

Art v 1 and Amb a 4 Co‐Sensitization Identifies Italian Patients at Risk for Mugwort‐Celery‐Spice Syndrome

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.

Combined genetic and genomic approaches to characterize a durable Hevea resistance to South American leaf blight : S01T07 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The South American Leaf Blight (SALB), due to the Ascomycota Microcyclus ulei, threatens the world production of natural rubber, based on the cultivation of nearly only one species: the tropical tree Hevea brasiliensis.

Autoclaved Peanuts Exhibit Reduced Immunoglobulin E Binding and Improved Oral Tolerability

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the effects of heat and pressure autoclaving on peanut proteins, IgE binding, and oral tolerability. Heat and pressure autoclaving breaks down peanut proteins and allergens, contributing to reduced peanut‐specific IgE binding. Autoclaved peanuts are associated with decreased skin test reactivity and greater oral tolerability in ...

Targeting and genotyping RGAs in a mapping population of the AA genome of wild Arachis

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2007
Peanut is an important legume crop. Although it has high levels of morphological diversity, it lacks genetic variability and sources of disease resistance.

Chloroplast Phylogenomic Analyses Reveal a Maternal Hybridization Event Leading to the Formation of Cultivated Peanuts

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) offer numerous healthy benefits, and the production of peanuts has a prominent role in global food security. As a result, it is in the interest of society to improve the productivity and quality of peanuts with transgenic ...
