Characterization of rhizobia that nodulate Arachis pintoi by RAPD analysis [PDF]
The genetic relationships of 85 Arachis pintoi nodulating Rhizobium strains were determined using the random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) methods. The analysis included 75 strains isolated from Cerrado soils and 10 other ones of different origins.

Agronomic evaluation of Arachis pintoi (Krap. and Greg.) germplasm in Florida [PDF]
Arachis pintoi germplasm displayed great variability with respect to adaptation, dry matter yield, nutritive value, seed production, and nematode reaction. Average forage dry matter yield (FDMY) during the year 2003 was 4.35 Mg/ ha, and ranged from zero to 9.10 Mg/ha.

Abstract Overseeding alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) into grass swards increases forage nutritive value and reduces N fertilizer requirement. In warm climates, establishing and maintaining alfalfa in mixtures with vigorous C4 grasses is challenging, which makes adjustment of defoliation management critical.

Abstract In the low fertility acid soils of the Orinoquian savannas of Colombia, Urochloa humidicola cv. Tully or Humidicola is one of the most widely planted tropical forage grasses for improving livestock productivity. Low nutritional quality of this grass limits sustainable livestock production in this region.

Extensive analysis of the literature revealed the complexity of banana below‐ground interactions and the driving factors of Fusarium wilt, for which the mechanisms remain poorly understood. Abstract Global banana production is affected by Fusarium wilt, a devastating disease caused by the soilborne root‐infecting fungus, Fusarium oxysporum f.

Commodity risk assessment of Malus domestica plants from Turkey
Abstract The European Commission requested the EFSA Panel on Plant Health to prepare and deliver risk assessments for commodities listed in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2019 as ‘High risk plants, plant products and other objects’. This Scientific Opinion covers plant health risks posed by dormant grafted plants, rootstocks, budwood and ...

Abstract Replacing N fertilizer with forage legumes may increase sustainability of grazing systems. The objectives were to evaluate herbage and animal responses and to quantify the water footprint associated with beef production in N‐fertilized grass or grass–legume systems during 4 yr under continuous stocking. The three year‐round forage systems were:

Soil erosion induced by rainfall under prevailing conditions is a prominent problem to farmers in tropical sloping lands of Northeast Vietnam. This study evaluates possibility of predicting erosion status by machine learning models, including fuzzy k‐nearest neighbor (FKNN), artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM), least squares ...
