Effect of angiotensin II receptor blockers on efficacy and safety of Camrelizumab plus chemotherapy in the first-line therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (ARMOR I): a protocol for a prospective, real-world, multicenter, intervention clinical trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundLung cancer, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. While immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), such as PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors, have revolutionized treatment for advanced NSCLC,

A Combined Experiment and Crystal Plasticity FEM Study of Microstructure and Texture in Aluminium Processed by Reverse and Unidirectional Accumulative Roll-Bonding

open access: yesCrystals, 2019
In this report, reverse accumulative roll-bonding (ARB) was conducted for the first time. It was found that the microstructure after reverse ARB was relatively coarser than that after unidirectional ARB, and texture intensity was slightly weaker.

The Jurisdiction of the Advertising Regulatory Board over non-members: The Supreme Court of Appeal confirms its Herbex-order in the Bliss-matter

open access: yesPotchefstroom Electronic Law Journal, 2023
This contribution seeks to answer the following question: To what extent does the Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB), as a public watchdog in the advertising industry, have the jurisdiction to consider advertising complaints filed against a person or ...

Beyond Nanoporosity: A CO2‐Conditioned Glassy Matrix Contributes to the Brittle‐to‐Ductile Transition of Nanocellular Polyetherimide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The mechanical performance of nanocellular polyetherimide cannot be explained by nanoporosity alone. It is shown that CO2 saturation and desorption leave a distinct mechanical signature in the glassy matrix before foaming. This matrix contribution provides a new route to understand and optimize the brittle to ductile transition in nanocellular polymers.

Quantifying where human acquisition of antibiotic resistance occurs: a mathematical modelling study

open access: yesBMC Medicine, 2018
Background Antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) are selected by the use of antibiotics. The rational design of interventions to reduce levels of antibiotic resistance requires a greater understanding of how and where ARB are acquired.

Asymmetric Single‐Atom Catalysts Govern Diffusible and Non‐Diffusible Non‐Radical Pathways for Selective Degradation of Antibiotic Resistance Genes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Asymmetric single‐atom metal‐nitrogen‐carbon catalysts modulate the non‐radical pathway during peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. A fundamental contrast was revealed between diffusible singlet oxygen (1O2) and non‐diffusible electron‐transfer pathways (ETP) in antibiotic resistance gene (ARG) degradation.

Role of NLRP3 Inflammasome in Neurodegeneration and Cancer: A Double-Edged Sword

open access: yesOnco
The innate immune system’s core sensor, the NLRP3 inflammasome (Nucleotide-binding Oligomerization Domain, Leucine-rich Repeat, and Pyrin Domain-Containing Protein 3), is a pivotal multi-protein complex that detects cellular danger and microbial threats.

Chinese Expert Consensus on the Clinical Application of Finerenone in Geriatric Comorbidities

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) overactivation drives inflammation, oxidative stress, and fibrosis in the heart, kidneys, and vasculature, leading to cardiorenal dysfunction. MR signaling promotes hypertrophy, remodeling, and injury through pathways like oxidative stress and inflammation, resulting in vascular stiffness and progressive organ damage ...

Heterogeneity in Food Price Inflation Convergence Across the EU: Evidence From Club Dynamics and Structural Breaks

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines food price inflation rate convergence among EU27 Member States from 2005 to 2024, focusing on structural breaks, external shocks, and regional disparities. Using panel unit root tests and club convergence analysis, the findings reveal no overall convergence but identify multiple convergence clubs.

Does a Specialized Niche Market Vegetable Processor Enjoy Bargaining Power?

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Agribusiness companies may achieve competitive advantage through specialization within niche markets. One such niche is the fresh‐cut fruit and vegetable market, which has been steadily growing in Germany. This study examines whether the specialization of a German fresh‐cut producer grants it with market power within this niche market.
