Reprogrammable and high-precision holographic optical addressing of trapped ions for scalable quantum control

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information, 2021
High-precision, individually programmable manipulation of quantum particles is crucial for scaling up quantum information processing (QIP) systems such as laser-cooled trapped-ions.

Faster Arbitrary-Precision Dot Product and Matrix Multiplication [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE 26th Symposium on Computer Arithmetic (ARITH), 2019
We present algorithms for real and complex dot product and matrix multiplication in arbitrary-precision floating-point and ball arithmetic. A low-overhead dot product is implemented on the level of GMP limb arrays; it is about twice as fast as previous code in MPFR and Arb at precision up to several hundred bits. Up to 128 bits, it is 3-4 times as fast,

Circular‐Polarization‐Sensitive Organic Photodetectors with a Chiral Nanopatterned Electrode Inverse‐Designed by Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...

Optimal approximate quantum error correction for quantum metrology

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
For a generic set of Markovian noise models, the estimation precision of a parameter associated with the Hamiltonian is limited by the 1/sqrt[t] scaling, where t is the total probing time, in which case the maximal possible quantum improvement in the ...

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

General Variational Formulas for Abelian Differentials

open access: yes, 2018
We use the jump problem technique developed in a recent paper by Grushevsky, Krichever and the second author to compute the variational formula of any stable differential and its periods to arbitrary precision in plumbing coordinates.

Arbitrary precision composite pulses for NMR quantum computing [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance, 2007
We discuss the implementation of arbitrary precision composite pulses developed using the methods of Brown et al. [Phys. Rev. A 70 (2004) 052318]. We give explicit results for pulse sequences designed to tackle both the simple case of pulse length errors and for the more complex case of off-resonance errors.

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

Boundary value problem for the flexible axially loaded compound shells of revolution and beams systems

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
The effective algorithm of static calculation of geometrically nonlinear compound thin structures is offered. Linear differential equations of moment theory are used.
