CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.

CO2‐Assisted Hydrolysis of NaBH4: A Multi‐Function Platform for Enhanced Hydrogen Release, Regeneration of NaBH4, and CO2‐to‐CH4 Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CO2 significantly accelerates hydrogen release from aqueous NaBH4 without metal catalysts, eliminating the need for downstream separation. Ball‐milling the hydrolytic products with Mg regenerates NaBH4 with yields exceeding 76% while simultaneously producing methane.

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,

Experimental investigation of discharge characteristics in AC-driven rotating arc plasma for ammonia decomposition

open access: yesFuel Processing Technology
This study investigates an AC-driven rotating arc plasma reactor for ammonia decomposition using pure NH₃ at 10 NLPM. Nitrogen and N₂/H₂ (1:3 vol%) mixtures were employed as reference gases to elucidate the intrinsic discharge behavior of ammonia, while ...

Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...

Transition From Primary to Secondary School: Igniting Attendance and Engagement Among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students Through National Policy Reform

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Australia's Closing the Gap reform aims to address disparities experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. There are specific targets focussed on key educational transitions; yet, the transition to secondary education is not a targeted priority.

Study on Lightning-Induced Plasma Extinguishing in 10 kV Distribution Network Lines Based on Electronegative Gas Trifluoroiodomethane

open access: yesPlasma
Plasma arcs generated by lightning strikes are prone to tripping distribution lines, especially 10 kV lines. To reduce the lightning-induced tripping rate of 10 kV distribution lines and ensure the safe operation of power systems, this paper proposes a ...

Quasi-single phase permanent fault identification method and reclosing strategy based on multi-level confidence rules

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
As global temperatures rise, the frequency of lightning increases, making lightning one of the principal threats to power-system security. Field incidents indicate that, within the automatic reclosing time window, multiple-stroke lightning can exhibit ...

High-frequency transient suppression in the distribution network: analysis and performance enhancement of an intelligent switch protection on-column

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences
Adjacent feeder column switches in electrical distribution systems may malfunction or refuse to operate during fault line isolation due to the rapid propagation of fault current.

English teachers' journeys since the 2020 Iteration of Black Lives Matter

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The 2020 resurgence of Black Lives Matter (BLM) mobilised students in England to demand greater representation of racially minoritised voices in English curriculums—a call highlighted by stark inequity: just 1.5% of GCSE texts studied are by racially minoritised authors, despite racially minoritised students comprising 38.0% of the student ...
