Two furanoditerpenes, 2α,3α-epoxy-2,3,7,8α-tetrahydropenianthic acid methyl ester (1) and 2α,3α-epoxy-2,3-dihydropenianthic acid methyl ester (2) were isolated and identified from the root of Arcangelisia flava (L.) Merr. The configuration of 1 was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis and two-dimensional NMR.
