3D Survey with Apple LiDAR Sensor—Test and Assessment for Architectural and Cultural Heritage

open access: yesHeritage, 2023
The documentation and metric knowledge of architectural and cultural heritage is becoming an increasingly important need, especially concerning the state of degradation of some historical assets and the associated required interventions. In this context,

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

CDA—Clinical Document Architecture

open access: yes, 2016
CDA (clinical document architecture) is the most widely adopted implementation of HL7 v3. It is used for exchanging information in the form of documents. CDA has three levels: level 1 is a single human-readable document, level 2 can include multiple documents and level 3 can include structured information.

Analysis of Software Binaries for Reengineering-Driven Product Line Architecture\^aAn Industrial Case Study

open access: yes, 2015
This paper describes a method for the recovering of software architectures from a set of similar (but unrelated) software products in binary form. One intention is to drive refactoring into software product lines and combine architecture recovery with ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Reconstructing the Historical Layers of a Colonial Prefabricated Wooden House in Old Calabar (1886–2012): Evidence-Based Workflow for Architectural Restoration

open access: yesBuildings
The importation of prefabricated buildings into colonies was a prevalent practice during the British colonial expansionist venture. However, in post-colonial Nigeria today, many of these prefabricated houses have either been largely modified or have ...

Multi-Layered Documentation of Heritage Villages: The Case of Tinbak, Qatar

open access: yesDesigns, 2021
Heritage settlements have long histories that consist of multiple layers of urban layouts, building forms, and culture. Looking at the first layer that formed the initiation stage of the growth becomes a difficult task because of the disguise of other ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These
