Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Representation vs. Ideation in the Architectural Design Process [PDF]

open access: yesAthens Journal of Architecture, 2016
While using catalysts from various cultural modalities has been a common practice in architectural design since the 1980’s, the epistemic grounds of this practice and its pedagogical implications remain yet to be fully analyzed.

Carving Sustainability into Architecture Knowledge Practice

open access: yes, 2023
In the daily work of a software architect, knowledge is ubiquitous. In addition to technical expertise, architecture knowledge (AK) also requires practical experience in the representation, communication, and management of architectural decisions. However, there is a pressing need to also incorporate sustainability aspects, i.e., capturing decisions ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
