'Yanagikawa Ideal', a variety of edible burdock, was selected for SMRT sequencing. Samples were collected from different parts of the plant at different times including small flowers (unopened and in full bloom), biennial leaves, petioles, stems, young annual leaves and petioles, mature annual leaves and petioles, annual roots, and seedlings.
