Extreme Multistability in Simple Area-Preserving Map [PDF]
Initial condition-relied extreme multistability has been recently found in many continuous dynamical systems. However, such a specific phenomenon has not yet been discovered in a discrete iterative map. To investigate this phenomenon, this paper proposes

Records and Occupation Time Statistics for Area-Preserving Maps
A relevant problem in dynamics is to characterize how deterministic systems may exhibit features typically associated with stochastic processes. A widely studied example is the study of (normal or anomalous) transport properties for deterministic systems

Image Cryptography Based On A Second-Order QRT Difference Equation [PDF]
The use of mathematical concepts of mapping in cryptography provides advantages in securing text or image data. The qualitative properties of mapping can preserve data that is kept confidential.

Basin Entropy and Shearless Barrier Breakup in Open Non-Twist Hamiltonian Systems
We consider open non-twist Hamiltonian systems represented by an area-preserving two-dimensional map describing incompressible planar flows in the reference frame of a propagating wave, and possessing exits through which map orbits can escape.

Area Preserving Brain Mapping [PDF]
Brain mapping transforms the brain cortical surface to canonical planar domains, which plays a fundamental role in morphological study. Most existing brain mapping methods are based on angle preserving maps, which may introduce large area distortions. This work proposes an area preserving brain mapping method based on Monge-Brenier theory.

Coexisting Infinite Orbits in an Area-Preserving Lozi Map
Extreme multistability with coexisting infinite orbits has been reported in many continuous memristor-based dynamical circuits and systems, but rarely in discrete dynamical systems.

LOCAL CONTROL OF AREA-PRESERVING MAPS [PDF]
We present a method of control of chaos in area-preserving maps. This method gives an explicit expression of a control term which is added to a given area-preserving map. The resulting controlled map which is a small and suitable modification of the original map, is again area-preserving and has an invariant curve whose equation is explicitly known.

Arnold Tongues in Area-Preserving Maps
In the early 60's J. B. Keller and D. Levy discovered a fundamental property: the instability tongues in Mathieu-type equations lose sharpness with the addition of higher-frequency harmonics in the Mathieu potentials. 20 years later V. Arnold rediscovered a similar phenomenon on sharpness of Arnold tongues in circle maps (and rediscovered the result of

Determination of an appropriate projection system for forest areas in Turkey
Geometrical surfaces such as sphere and ellipsoid are considered as reference surfaces since there is no geometric shape that perfectly represents the earth when translating the earth into a map plane.
