Neural mismatch responses have been proposed to rely on different mechanisms, including prediction error-related activity and adaptation to frequent stimuli. However, the hierarchical cortical structure of these mechanisms is unknown. To investigate this

An Improved Error Control Model in Packet Switched Wide Area Networks
Error is an important problem in communication that occurs in shared networks when a packet fails to arrive at the destination or it arrives at the destination but some of the bits are in error or have been altered. In typical packet switched wide area networks, this can occur quite easily when output links are slower than inputs and multiple traffic ...

Derandomization and Group Testing
The rapid development of derandomization theory, which is a fundamental area in theoretical computer science, has recently led to many surprising applications outside its initial intention.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Resolution Control Loop for TDC-Based Phase Detectors in ADPLLs
This paper proposes a resolution control loop that runs in background to control the time resolution of a mid-rise Time to Digital Converter (TDC) used as a phase detector in All-Digital Phase Locked Loops (ADPLLs).

Diagnosing multiplicative error by lensing magnification of type Ia supernovae
Weak lensing causes spatially coherent fluctuations in flux of type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). This lensing magnification allows for weak lensing measurement independent of cosmic shear.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

ENC Depth Areas: Quality control of sea-bottom surface continuity and error fixes
The Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) consists of point, line, and area features compiled following the node-chain topological model. To ensure that the topological structure is valid, the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has developed a number of checks defined in Publication S-58.
