Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Improved Load Frequency Control Using a Fast Acting Active Disturbance Rejection Controller

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
System frequency may change from defined values while transmitting power from one area to another in an interconnected power system due to various reasons such as load changes and faults.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Design of Crosstalk Prevention Coding scheme based on Quintuplicated Manchester error correction method for Reliable on chip Interconnects

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2018
A low power Manchester based error-control code for on-chip interconnection-link has been proposed in this paper. It has a capacity to rectify nonuple errors of random and burst using standard N-Modular Redundancy (N-MR) error correction scheme ...

Differential effects of prediction error and adaptation along the auditory cortical hierarchy during deviance processing

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2022
Neural mismatch responses have been proposed to rely on different mechanisms, including prediction error-related activity and adaptation to frequent stimuli. However, the hierarchical cortical structure of these mechanisms is unknown. To investigate this

Derandomization and Group Testing

open access: yes, 2010
The rapid development of derandomization theory, which is a fundamental area in theoretical computer science, has recently led to many surprising applications outside its initial intention.

Network-supported layered multicast transport control for streaming media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Multicast is very efficient in distributing large volume of data to multiple receivers over the Internet. Layered multicast helps solve the heterogeneity problem in multicast delivery.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A radio channel emulator for WCDMA, based on the hidden Markov model (HMM) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
One of the main development and research subjects within the telecommunications area activity is the 3G mobile systems standardisation. The radio access is, of course, the main trouble in mobile systems, so it is important to investigate its implication.

An Improved Error Control Model in Packet Switched Wide Area Networks

open access: yesTransactions on Networks and Communications, 2019
Error is an important problem in communication that occurs in shared networks when a packet fails to arrive at the destination or it arrives at the destination but some of the bits are in error or have been altered. In typical packet switched wide area networks, this can occur quite easily when output links are slower than inputs and multiple traffic ...
