Coherence methods in mapping AVO anomalies and predicting P-wave and S-wave impedances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Filters for migrated offset substacks are designed by partial coherence analysis to predict ‘normal’ amplitude variation with offset (AVO) in an anomaly free area.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A Novel Load Frequency Control Strategy for a Modern Power System by Considering State-Space Modeling and Stability Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access
The increasing integration of renewable energy sources (RESs) into the power system reduces system inertia, which presents substantial challenges for maintaining frequency stability.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Quantitative studies of hepatocytes in periportal and perivenous zones of the liver lobules in diabetic rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study was designed to evaluate the morphometric changes of parenchymal cells in the periportal (Z1) and perivenous (Z3) zones of the liver lobules that occur after Streptozotocin-induced diabetes in rats.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Research on the Arrangement of Additional Source for Large Space Protection of an Active Noise Barrier

open access: yesApplied Sciences
When active noise control technology is applied to traffic noise control, additional sources are often added to the facade of the barrier, and error sensors are placed in the protected area. The noise reduction effect in the area without error sensors is

Two-Layer Error Control Codes Combining Rectangular and Hamming Product Codes for Cache Error

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2014
We propose a novel two-layer error control code, combining error detection capability of rectangular codes and error correction capability of Hamming product codes in an efficient way, in order to increase cache error resilience for many core systems ...

Area Control Error Prediction Based on PCA-XGBoost

open access: yes
In order to fully explore the temporal characteristic relation between power grid operation information and area control error, and improve the prediction accuracy of area control error, an area control error prediction method based on principal component analysis (PCA) and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) was proposed.
