Effect of TRH on Plasma Arginine Vasopressin
Hormone Research, 1984Effect of thyrotropic releasing hormone (TRH) on plasma arginine vasopressin (AVP) was studied in human subjects. All 7 normal controls and 2 hypothyrotropic hypothyroid subjects failed to show any rise of AVP on TRH administration. The 4 primary hypothyroid subjects had elevated basal AVP level and showed further elevation on TRH administration.

RADIOIMMUNOASSAY OF [8-ARGININE]-VASOPRESSIN
Acta Endocrinologica, 1975ABSTRACT A radioimmunological method for the determination of the human antidiuretic hormone, [8-arginine]-vasopressin (AVP), is described in detail. The antiserum has been raised in rabbits injected with AVP adsorbed onto charcoal particles and is used at a final dilution of 1:200 000. It contains antibodies directed specifically against the C-

Immunoreactive Arginine Vasopressin in the Rat Thymus*
Endocrinology, 1986Immunoreactive arginine vasopressin (ir-AVP), coeluting with authentic nonapeptide on reverse phase HPLC, is present in the thymus of Sprague-Dawley, Long-Evans, and homozygous (di/di) Brattleboro rats, and BALB/c mice. By immunohistochemistry, ir-AVP positive cells are sparse, and do not appear to be lymphocytes.

Arginine vasopressin, fever and temperature regulation
1999While central administration of arginine vasopressin (VP) to the non-febrile rat at high doses can cause hypothermia, there is little evidence for a role for endogenous VP in normal thermoregulation. In contrast, VP arising from cell bodies in the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis and innervating the ventral septal areas and possibly the amygdala ...

Determinants of Plasma Arginine‐Vasopressin in Children
Acta Paediatrica, 1986ABSTRACT. Plasma concentration of arginine‐vasopressin (AVP) was measured in 145 healthy subjects aged one day to 18 years of age. AVP decreased with age immediately after birth. Above one year of age values of children did not significantly differ from those in adults.

Functional activity of vasopressin analog desglycinamide-arginine-vasopressin
Biology Bulletin, 2006Original and published data on the functional activity of neurohypophyseal hormone vasopressin and its analog DGAVP were analyzed with a particular focus on the pattern of the peptide effect on the hemostatic system. The effects of the natural hormone and its synthetic analog on some indices of coagulation and fibrinolysis were compared. The effects of

Radioimmunoassay of Arginine Vasopressin in Human Plasma
Hormone and Metabolic Research, 1975Antibodies for the radioimmunoassay of arginine vasopressin (AVP) described here were produced in rabbits using synthetic AVP coupled to rabbit gamma-globulin with carbodiimide. In three out of six rabbits, significant antibody titres were obtained. Using the best antisera produced, 40% of labeled AVP was bound at a final dilution of 1:50.000.

Central arginine vasopressin and endogenous antipyresis
Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology, 1992Arginine vasopressin (AVP) is a centrally synthesized nonapeptide that exerts classical endocrine effects as well as a host of centrally mediated actions. A strong case can be argued in support of a neurotransmitter–neuromodulator role for AVP. Acting within the central nervous system (CNS), AVP has been demonstrated to be involved in the modulation ...

Arginine vasopressin disposition in the conscious rabbit
Peptides, 1996To characterize the urinary kinetics of AVP, and the influence of regional blood flow on the metabolic degradation of AVP, multiple doses of AVP were administered to conscious rabbits. AVP systemic clearance (ClT) was not influenced by changes in dose, in spite of a decrease in AVP urinary clearance following the highest dose.
