Hyponatremia resulting from Arginine Vasopressin Receptor 2 gene mutation

open access: closedPediatric Nephrology, 2006
Chronic hyponatremia, unless associated with extracellular fluid volume expansion, is an infrequent electrolyte imbalance in pediatrics. We report an infant with chronic hyponatremia suggestive of a syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (SIADH), in the absence of ADH secretion.

Immunohistochemical renal expression of aquaporin 2, arginine-vasopressin, vasopressin receptor 2, and renin in saltwater drowning and freshwater drowning

open access: closedInternational Journal of Legal Medicine, 2020
The diagnosis of drowning is considered one of the most difficult in forensic medicine. Due to the paucity of signs, it is a classical diagnosis by exclusion. For this reason, specific immunohistochemical markers would be useful. Far too little has been done to analyze in-depth the differences between SWD and FWD.

Reduced aldehyde dehydrogenase activity and arginine vasopressin receptor 2 expression in the kidneys of male TALLYHO/JngJ mice of prediabetic age

open access: closedEndocrine, 2011
The TALLYHO/JngJ (TH) mouse is a novel polygenic model of type 2 diabetes and exhibits obesity, hyperglycemia (males), hyperinsulinemia, hyperlipidemia, and enlarged pancreatic islets. Since the kidney is damaged by hyperglycemia in other animal models, the present study aimed to determine the kidney phenotype of TH mice using immunoblot and ...
