Sites of Action of Arginine Vasotocin in the Nephron of the Bullfrog Kidney
General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1994The nature and location of arginine vasotocin (AVT) V2-type receptors in the bullfrog kidney with respect to cellular 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) production in response to AVT were studied in microdissected segments of the nephron and urinary bladder.

Arginine vasotocin as a pineal hormone.
Journal of neural transmission. Supplementum, 1979The pineal nonapeptide hormone arginine vasotocin (AVT) is synthesized by the ependymal cells of the pineal recess and subcommissural organ and stored in so far undefined cells of the pineal gland proper. AVT is first released into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and reaches the blood only secondarily after its absorption from CSF.

Effects of arginine vasotocin and prostaglandin E1 on the hen uterus
Prostaglandins, 1978In the domestic hen, the uterine portion of the oviduct responded in vitro to arginine vasotocin (AVT) and prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) at all investigated stages of the egg-laying cycle. However, the uterus was less responsive to both hormones during oviposition.

Tentative Identification of Arginine Vasotocin in Human Cerebrospinal Fluid
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1970ABSTRACT Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) obtained by suboccipital puncture from normal young males within 5–10 min after thiopental anesthesia contains a peptide with antidiuretic, oxytocic and frog bladder activities. Tryptic digestion of the CSF peptide suggests that it contains at least one basic amino acid.
