The Ionization of Argon and Neon by Neutral Argon Beams [PDF]
As a result of the discovery of Kallmann and Rosen [1,2] that the probability of charge transfer is very great for gas ions moving in a gas of their own molecular or atomic species, the possibility of obtaining an atomic beam of high intensity is at once indicated.

Preliminary test results of LAr prototype detector
WIMPs are a well-motivated galactic dark matter candidate. Liquid argon (LAr) is an attractive target for the direct detection of WIMPs. The LAr prototype detector is designed to study the technology and property of LAr detector.

Nitrogen and argon doping of niobium for superconducting radio frequency cavities: a pathway to highly efficient accelerating structures [PDF]
We report a surface treatment that systematically improves the quality factor of niobium radio frequency cavities beyond the expected limit for niobium.

High Efficiency Detection of Argon Scintillation Light of 128nm Using LAAPDs
The possibility of efficient collection and detection of vacuum ultraviolet light as emitted by argon, krypton, and xenon gas is studied. Absolute quantum efficiencies of large area avalanche photodiodes (LAAPDs) are derived at these wavelengths.

An evaluation of weld metal nitrogen retention and properties in 316NL austenitic stainless steel [PDF]
A series of tests were conducted using varying levels of nitrogen and helium in a conventional argon shielding gas when welding 316LN austenitic stainless steel. The outcome was that a 15 per cent nitrogen addition to the argon shielding gas had the most

Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Influence of Environment on Creep Properties of MC2 Single Crystal Superalloy at 1150°C [PDF]
In order to reveal the effect of oxidation on thin blade walls, a new machine allowing tests up to 1250°C under controlled atmosphere has been designed.
