Abstract The minor aristolochic acids isolated from Aristolochia argentina were identified as 6,7-dimethoxy, 6-hydroxy-7-methoxy, 2-hydroxy-8-methoxy and 7-hydroxy-8-methoxy disubstituted derivatives of the 3,4-methylenedioxy-10-nitro-1-phenanthroic acid, respectively. A. argentina also contains the previously reported aristoloside.

Phytochemistry, 1994Three new compounds, aristolochic acid IIIa-6-O-beta-D-glucoside, cepharanone-A N-beta-D-glucoside and 2-hydroxy-8-methyloxycepharanone-A, were isolated together with eight known compounds from methanolic extracts of fresh roots of Aristolochia cinnabarina.
