Role of Arl13b-exocyst interaction in ciliogenesis
Primary cilia are sensory organelles present on nearly every eukaryotic cell. Arl13b belongs to the Arf family of small G proteins. Mutations in this protein were identified in patients with Joubert syndrome, a ciliopathy characterized by neurological defects combined with polydactyly and cystic kidneys.
