ARMv8-A System Semantics: Instruction Fetch in Relaxed Architectures [PDF]
AbstractComputing relies on architecture specifications to decouple hardware and software development. Historically these have been prose documents, with all the problems that entails, but research over the last ten years has developed rigorous and executable-as-test-oracle specifications of mainstream architecture instruction sets and “user-mode ...

A resource efficient pseudo random number generator based on sawtooth maps for Internet of Things
Abstract The strength of cryptographic keys rely on the random number generators (RNGs) to produce random seed values. Unfortunately there are not many RNGs options suitable for Internet of Things (IoTs) scenario, due to limited processing resources and bulk quantity of IoT data that needs to be secured.

First end‐to‐end PQC protected DPU‐to‐DPU communications
This letter presents the first post‐quantum link between data processing units. It uses the quantum resilient algorithms Dilihtium and Kyber for authentication and key exchange respectively and AES‐256 for encrypting application data. Abstract The appearance of quantum computing in the short foreseeable future and its capability to break conventional ...

Oil and Vinegar: Modern Parameters and Implementations
Two multivariate digital signature schemes, Rainbow and GeMSS, made it into the third round of the NIST PQC competition. However, neither made its way to being a standard due to devastating attacks (in one case by Beullens, the other by Tao, Petzoldt ...

Bit‐Sliced Implementation of SM4 and New Performance Records
SM4 is a popular block cipher issued by the Office of State Commercial Cryptography Administration (OSCCA) of China. In this paper, we use the bit‐slicing technique that has been shown as a powerful strategy to achieve very fast software implementations of SM4. We investigate optimizations on two frontiers. First, we present a more efficient bit‐sliced

High‐coverage metamorphic testing of concurrency support in C compilers
Summary We present a technique and automated toolbox for randomized testing of C compilers. Unlike prior compiler‐testing approaches, we generate concurrent test cases in which threads communicate using fine‐grained atomic operations, and we study actual compiler implementations rather than abstract mappings.

Abstract Object detection from apron surveillance video is facing enormous storage pressure and computing overhead. Large cloud server cluster is generally used and high‐speed network bandwidth is required, also equipped with powerful GPUs for computing support. The design of hardware‐friendly and efficient object detection model is challenging.

Profiling and controlling I/O‐related memory contention in COTS heterogeneous platforms
Abstract Motivated by the increasing number of embedded applications that make use of traffic‐intensive I/O devices, this work studies the memory contention generated by I/O devices and investigates on the regulation of the bus traffic they generate by means of COTS regulators, namely the QoS‐400 by Arm.
