Biventricular / Left Ventricular Pacing in Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: An Overview

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2012
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an autosomal dominant inherited genetic disease characterized by compensatory pathological left ventricle (LV) hypertrophy due to sarcomere dysfunction.

PEDOT:PSS—A Key Material for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PEDOT:PSS ‐ Poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate ‐ is typically processed from water dispersions to form multifunctional and multidimensional constructs with tunable electronic and ionic conductivity. Throught processing engineering, PEDOT:PSS is intergrated in bioelectronic devices that operate efficiently in physiological conditions

Galectin-3 Regulates Atrial Fibrillation Remodeling and Predicts Catheter Ablation Outcomes

open access: yesJACC: Basic to Translational Science, 2016
Atrial fibrillation (AF) usually starts as paroxysmal but can evolve relentlessly to the persistent and permanent forms. However, the mechanisms governing such a transition are unknown.

Electrocardiographic patch devices and contemporary wireless cardiac monitoring. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cardiac electrophysiologic derangements often coexist with disorders of the circulatory system. Capturing and diagnosing arrhythmias and conduction system disease may lead to a change in diagnosis, clinical management and patient outcomes.

Pattern of initiation of monomorphic ventricular tachycardia in recorded intracardiac electrograms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Background: By analyzing stored intracardiac electrograms during spontaneous monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT), we examined the patterns of the VT initiation in a group of patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).

Reprogramming the Myocardial Infarction Conductive Microenvironment with Superconductive Ionic Patch for Cardiac Function Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A super‐conductive ionic patch reprograms the post‐infarction microenvironment by enabling stable ionic migration and electrical signal transmission within damaged myocardium. The patch rapidly adheres to cardiac tissue, enhances conduction velocity, suppresses excitation‐contraction decoupling, and promotes structural and functional cardiac repair in ...

Effectiveness of Pre‐Transplant Dual GLP‐1 Receptor Agonist and SGLT2 Inhibitor Therapy on All‐Cause Mortality in Organ Transplantation Candidates with Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes: a Target‐Trial Emulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This target trial emulation in solid organ transplant candidates with obesity and type 2 diabetes evaluates whether pre‐transplant dual therapy with GLP‐1 receptor agonists plus SGLT2 inhibitors is associated with post‐transplant mortality and kidney graft outcomes compared with monotherapy or usual care, using multinational electronic health records ...

Mortality in Patients on Renal Replacement Therapy and Permanent Cardiac Pacemakers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nephrology, 2014
End stage renal disease is a relatively frequent disease with high mortality due to cardiac causes. Permanent pacemaker (PM) implantation rates are also very common; thus combination of both conditions is not unusual.

Remote Activation of Spinal TRPV1 by Magnetic Nanocubes Confers Cardioprotection Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe‐based magnetic nanocubes conjugated with TRPV1 antibodies (FeNCs‐TRPV1) are developed for the specific targeting of TRPV1 channels. Intraspinally injected FeNCs‐TRPV1 induces TRPV1 desensitization in rats exposed to repetitive and transient ACMF.
