Prefrontal Neurovascular Coupling Abnormalities Associated With Cognitive Performance in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Multimodal MRI showed reduced global CBF‐ALFF coupling and increased medial prefrontal CBF/ALFF ratios in multiple sclerosis. The mPFC abnormality was associated with lower cognitive performance and greater disability. ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a prevalent and debilitating feature in multiple sclerosis (MS), yet its pathophysiology ...

Skeletal Muscle Microvascular Flow in Progressive Peripheral Artery Disease Assessment with Continuous Arterial Spin-Labeling Perfusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yes, 2010
Objectives We present the novel application of continuous arterial spin- labeling (CASL) magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) for the measurement of calf muscle perfusion in subjects with progressive peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

A Technical Perspective for Understanding Quantitative Arterial Spin-Labeling MR Imaging Using Continuous ASL [PDF]

open access: yesPolish Journal of Radiology, 2016
The current paper describes visually the system of CBF measurement by continuous ASL using schematic illustration. I also discussed the effects of the parameters used in continuous ASL to CBF values as measured with ASL-MRI.

The long and winding road to translation for imaging biomarker development: the case for arterial spin labelling (ASL) [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Radiology Experimental, 2017
Radiology is facing many challenges nowadays, and certainly needs to keep up with the fast pace of developments taking place in this field. This editorial aims at drawing the attention of the reader to the current establishment of quantitative imaging biomarkers, in particular through the efforts of the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance (QIBA ...

DynaTOF: Time‐Resolved Noncontrast Cerebral MR Angiography Using Spatially Modulated RF Saturation

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1134-1147, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a time‐resolved extension of three‐dimensional time‐of‐flight MR angiography, termed Dynamic TOF (DynaTOF), that exploits intrinsic RF saturation behavior to enable noncontrast visualization of cerebrovascular hemodynamics.

Renal Arterial Spin Labeling Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

open access: yes, 2017
Arterial spin labeling (ASL) MRI allows the quantification of tissue perfusion without administration of exogenous contrast agents. Patients with reduced renal function or other contraindications to Gadolinium-based contrast media may benefit from the ...

Oxygenaging: A Physiological Framework for Geroscience

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 9, September 2026.
Mechanisms of aging disrupt oxygen homeostasis through three converging processes: oxygen‐cascade impairment, microvascular dysfunction, and molecular maladaptation. “Oxygenaging” integrates these domains to explain how declining oxygen delivery and utilization drive mitochondrial instability and amplify the effect of the hallmarks of aging.

Harmonized Acquisition of Connectome MRI and Clinical Data for Stroke, Parkinson's Disease and Glioma: Delphi‐Derived Protocol Recommendations by the European Academy of Neurology

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 9, September 2026.
In the context of the Horizon Europe EBRAINS 2.0 research consortium, Delphi‐derived, consented protocol recommendations from European Academy of Neurology Scientific Panel experts provide a pragmatic framework for harmonizing multi‐scale data acquisition for connectome analyses in stroke, Parkinson's Disease, and glioma.
