Ganoderma Sinense Soluble Dietary Fiber Alleviates Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease by Regulating Liver Metabolism

open access: yeseFood, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2025.
This study evaluated the effect of soluble dietary fiber from Ganoderma sinense on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) by establishing in vitro cell and in vivo mouse models. Ganoderma sinense soluble dietary fiber (GSSDF) alleviates nonalcoholic fatty liver disease by regulating lipid metabolism and reducing oxidative stress.

METAB‐HTX: prospective, longitudinal cohort study evaluating cardiac and systemic metabolism after heart transplantation

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 3152-3162, August 2025.
The METAB‐HTX trial is a prospective cohort study, evaluating cardiac and systemic metabolism among heart transplant recipients. Myocardial function, energetic and metabolism, allograft vasculopathy, allograft rejection, glucometabolism, lipometabolism, liver‐ and kidney function, leucocyte signatures and thromboinflammation will be evaluated ...

Association Between Estimated Pulse Wave Velocity and Carotid Plaques in Non‐Dialysis CKD Stages 3–5: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Carotid plaques are common in CKD patients and serve as a key marker of cardiovascular risk. Arterial stiffness, assessed by estimated pulse wave velocity (ePWV), is a valuable non‐invasive indicator of vascular health. However, the association between ePWV and carotid plaques in CKD stages 3–5 remains unclear.

Simplified spectrophotometric assay for microsomal 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase by measurement of coenzyme A

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1973
A new assay for 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase (mevalonate: NADP oxidoreductase [acylating CoA], EC 1.1.1.34) is based upon the measurement of released coenzyme A (SH) during the reduction of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA to mevalonate ...

Fatal Outcome of Intravenous Thrombolysis With an Unexpected Finding of Amyloid‐β‐Related Angiitis—A Case Report Highlighting a Relevant Scenario With Acute Focal Neurological Deficits and Minimal Radiological Presentation

open access: yesNeuropathology, Volume 45, Issue 4, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) has been implicated as a risk for developing lobar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) applied for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, there is a paucity of cases reported with histopathological CAA diagnosis in this setting, with a single report to imply the role of CAA ...
