Formation of the Infection Bulb in Arthrobotrys oligospora Fresenius [PDF]
IN network- and knob-forming Hyphomycetes which are predacious on nematodes, it has long been considered that the structure known as the infection bulb is in some way instrumental in bringing about the death of the prey.

Microbial communities on potato tubers in northern Thailand were studied with 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing. It was found that soil pH and organic matter are key drivers of bacterial and fungal composition, affecting the balance between pathogens and beneficial microbes.

Phosphate Solubilizing Microorganisms: Promising Approach as Biofertilizers
Phosphorus (P) is a macronutrient required for the proper functioning of plants. Because P plays a vital role in every aspect of plant growth and development, deficiencies can reduce plant growth and development. Though soil possesses total P in the form of organic and inorganic compounds, most of them remain inactive and thus unavailable to plants ...

Diversity and Evolution of Sensor Histidine Kinases in Eukaryotes [PDF]
Histidine kinases (HKs) are primary sensor proteins that act in cell signaling pathways generically referred to as "two component systems" (TCSs). TCSs are among the most widely distributed transduction systems used by both prokaryotic and eukaryotic ...

IbPIF1 confers stem nematode resistance by regulating secondary metabolites in sweet potato
Summary The stem nematode (Ditylenchus destructor Thorne) is a pervasive and destructive plant‐parasitic nematode worldwide, inflicting severe agricultural and economic losses in a wide range of crops. Despite its global impact, the molecular mechanisms underlying plant resistance to this pathogen remain poorly understood. Our previous studies in sweet

We determined the morphological taxonomy of eighteen nematophagous fungi (NF), as well as their in vitro predatory activity against Haemonchus contortus infective larvae (L3). Fungi were classified into six genera and three species, the most common of which were Monacrosporium eudermatum and Arthrobotrys oligospora.

Low genetic diversity among isolates of the nematode-trapping fungus Duddingtonia flagrans: evidence for recent worldwide dispersion from a single common ancestor [PDF]
The genetic variation of Duddingtonia flagrans, which has become a promising biocontrol agent of animal parasitic nematodes, was investigated in a worldwide collection of 22 isolates.

CWI‐MAPKs Regulate the Formation of Hyphopodia Required for Virulence in Ceratocystis fimbriata
The Slt2‐Swi6 pathway is crucial for the pathogenicity of Ceratocystis fimbriata. It regulates septin assembly at the base of the penetration peg, thereby influencing penetration peg formation—a key virulence determinant. ABSTRACT Ceratocystis fimbriata is a destructive fungal pathogen that infects various economic crops.

Susceptibility of a cyst and a root-knot nematode to three nematode-trapping fungi [PDF]

Thraustochytrids exhibit four distinct polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) biosynthetic types: Type I (ELO/DES pathway), Type II (dual‐pathway) and Types III–IV (PUFA‐S pathway with varying gene losses). This genetic diversity in PUFA biosynthesis pathways provides new perspectives for understanding their evolutionary relationships and potential ...
