The effects of Arthrobotrys oligospora and Arthrobotrys conoides culture filtrates on second stage juvenile mortality and egg hatching of Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne javanica

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2015
Culture filtrates (CF) of two species of the nematophagous fungi, Arthrobotrys oligospora and Arthrobotrys conoidesat three concentrations (25%, 50% and 100%) of stock, were tested on the mortality of second stage juveniles (J2) and egg hatching rate of ...

Purification and characterization of a surface lectin from the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1992
Several studies have indicated that the capture of nematodes by the nematophagous fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora is mediated by a lectin on the fungal surface. One of the major surface proteins of this fungus showed haemagglutinating activity and was isolated by affinity chromatography using a mucin Sepharose column.

Biotic interactions in soil and dung shape parasite transmission in temperate ruminant systems: An integrative framework

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 34, Issue 3, April 2024.
Abstract Gastrointestinal helminth parasites undergo part of their life cycle outside their host, such that developmental stages interact with the soil and dung fauna. These interactions are capable of affecting parasite transmission on pastures yet are generally ignored in current models, empirical studies and practical management. Dominant methods of

Concerning the implication ofArthrobotrys oligosporain a case of keratitis [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Mycology, 1991
A fungus implicated in a human case of mycotic keratitis and identified as Arthrobotrys oligospora has been re-studied and re-identified as Cephaliophora irregularis.

Urea regulates soil nematode population by enhancing the nematode-trapping ability of nematode-trapping fungi

open access: yesScientific Reports
As the most abundant animal in the soil, nematodes are directly or indirectly involved in almost all soil ecological processes. Studying soil nematode population regulation is essential to understanding soil ecological processes.

Random mutagenesis analysis and identification of a novel C2H2-type transcription factor from the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Arthrobotrys oligospora is a typical nematode-trapping fungus. In this study, 37 transformants of A. oligospora were obtained by REMI (restriction enzyme mediated integration) method and phenotypic properties of nine transformants were analyzed. The nine

Hyphomycetes (fungos conidiais) associados a briófitas em decomposição Hyphomycetes (conidial fungi) associated with decomposing bryophytes

On nematode-destroying fungi in Finland

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1967
In the investigation concerning the microflora of 60 samples, collected from the »saunas» (bath house) from various parts of Finland, and consisting of shavings from the floors and platforms with benches, it was established that many of the samples were ...

Nutritional Stress and Prey Signals Trigger a Metabolic Shift in Arthrobotrys spp.: Aomae1 Expression Suggests a Role in the Switch Between Saprophytic and Parasitic Lifestyles

open access: yesPathogens
Nematode-trapping fungi are saprophytic organisms that can transform their mycelium into a parasitic lifestyle, forming traps to capture and feed on nematodes.
